They then use the netted computers to launch attacks against websites, which will knock them offline. In an interview with Vice Magazine, anonymous “black hat” hackers, said that they can make a lot of money by ransoming online casinos. Basically, they threaten to take the casino offline, unless they pay up. Since the casino would lose more money by being taken offline, they always pay.
